Just before Desolation sound lies Savary Island, a five mile long, approx 1/2 mile wide island with shores of beautiful white sand. This island offers some of the best beaches and swimming waters around. A great place to spend time in the summer although you are exposed when anchoring overnight. More protected anchorages are nearby like the Copeland Islands. If you enjoy local interest titles, try reading Adventures in Solitude by Grant Lawrence. An entertaining read at anchor!
